The project
Entrance canopy & window awning package
National restaurant brands arrive with an elevation already drawn, which makes this a different job from a one-off storefront. The canopy has to land where the drawing says, in the finish the brand specifies, and it has to be right the first time because the opening date does not move. We have delivered these as new-build packages — canopy and window awnings fitted to fresh construction — as well as onto existing storefronts. The window awnings do real work on a glass frontage: a full-height glass elevation facing the afternoon sun turns a dining room into a greenhouse, and shading the glass is cheaper than fighting it with air conditioning for the life of the lease. Being the shop that both fabricates and installs matters most on jobs like these, because there is nobody to hand the problem to when a dimension on site does not match the drawing.
