Metal Awnings & Canopies
Metal & Aluminum Awnings in Connecticut
Real fabricated metal, for homes and for businesses — aluminum and metal awnings over doors, windows and patios, and architectural canopies for storefronts and facilities. Built and installed by our own Connecticut crews since 1947.
What we fabricate
Architectural metal, built in our own shop
We have been fabricating metal and aluminum awnings in Manchester, Connecticut since 1947 — for homes, and for supermarkets, restaurants, retail storefronts and manufacturing facilities. One shop handles the drawings, the fabrication and the install, so nothing gets lost between trades.
Standing-Seam Metal Canopies
Crisp vertical ribs and clean lines in real metal — engineered and welded to define an entrance.
Flat-Panel Canopies
Clean, modern flat-panel metal canopies for contemporary storefronts and new builds.
Cantilevered Entrance Canopies
Column-free entry canopies that carry their own load and keep the walkway clear.
Walkway & Covered Canopies
Long-run covered walkways on steel columns — for supermarkets, facilities and campuses.
Metal Window Awnings
Cable-stay and bracketed metal window awnings that sharpen a facade run.
Design & Engineering
We work from your architect’s plans or design from scratch — permit-ready and code-compliant.
For homes
Aluminum & metal awnings for your house
Metal awnings do a job fabric cannot: they stay up all year, they shrug off a New England winter, and once they are on the house there is nothing to take down in October or put back in April. Over a door, above a window, or across a patio, an aluminum awning is the low-maintenance answer.
- Made for your opening. Measured at your house and fabricated to fit — not a stock size forced to work.
- Year-round. No seasonal take-down, no storage, no re-hang.
- Built to last decades. The same shop and the same metal work that goes onto supermarkets and storefronts.
- Installed by our own crew. We fabricate it and we put it up — and we service it afterwards.
Prefer shade you can put away, or something that opens and closes on demand? That is aretractable awning, and we build those too — see awnings for your home.

Metal, or the look of metal?
Two different products. We make both.
Fabricated metal — this page
Real welded metal. Permanent, rigid, and engineered to the building. The right answer for entrance canopies, covered walkways, and anywhere the structure has to carry load or read as part of the architecture.
Standing-seam “Metal Look” fabric
The same crisp vertical ribs and architectural lines, in awning fabric. Lighter, faster to install, follows curves rigid metal cannot, and can be recovered later instead of replaced.

For architects & general contractors
We work from your plans
- Permit-ready drawings. Code-compliant, produced from your plans or designed from scratch.
- New build or retrofit. Full canopy packages on new construction, and retrofits onto existing facades.
- One trade, not three. Design, fabrication and installation under one roof — no coordination gap.
- Our own crews. We install what we build, and we service it afterwards.
- Since 1947. A Connecticut shop, not a national dealer network.

Questions
Metal awning & canopy FAQs
Do you fabricate real metal awnings, or fabric that looks like metal?
Both, and they are genuinely different products. This page is real fabricated metal — welded, engineered, and permanent. We also make a standing-seam “Metal Look” awning, which delivers the same architectural appearance in lightweight awning fabric at a lower engineered cost, and can follow curves rigid metal cannot. If you are weighing the two, tell us the opening and the look you want and we will tell you straight which one fits.
Do you make aluminum awnings for houses, or only commercial work?
Both. We fabricate aluminum and metal awnings for homes — over doors, windows and patios — and architectural metal canopies for storefronts, restaurants and facilities. It is the same shop and the same metal work either way. Tell us the opening and what you are trying to shade and we will come measure.
Is a metal awning better than a fabric one for a house?
It depends on what you want from it. Metal stays up year-round, needs almost nothing from you, and lasts decades — no seasonal take-down, no storage, no re-hang. Fabric gives you colour and pattern choices metal cannot, costs less to start, and a retractable version lets you choose sun or shade on the day. If you want to stop thinking about it, choose metal. If you want control over the light, choose a retractable.
What is the difference between a metal awning and a metal canopy?
In practice they overlap, and which word you use usually depends on who you are. Architects, general contractors and facility managers tend to say canopy — especially for entrance, walkway and cantilevered structures. Building and business owners tend to say awning, especially over windows and storefronts. We fabricate both, from the same shop, and it is the same conversation either way.
Can you work from our architect’s drawings?
Yes. We work from your architect’s plans or design from scratch, and we produce permit-ready, code-compliant drawings either way. We have delivered full canopy packages on new construction as well as retrofits onto existing buildings.
Do you install what you fabricate?
Yes — our own crews, not subcontractors. We fabricate in our Manchester, Connecticut shop and install across Central Connecticut and the shoreline, and we service what we build.
What kind of buildings do you do metal canopy work for?
Supermarkets, restaurants, retail storefronts, manufacturing and precision facilities, and multi-unit retail plazas. Completed Connecticut projects include Steelpointe Foodland, KMM Precision Measuring, Chipotle and Club Pilates.
